- Yoga classes focus on breathing, physical exercises and meditation, to improve physical flexibility, strength, stamina, and endurance.
- Yoga can be a method of physical exercise, a way to reduce and manage stress, a means of healing an illness or injury, and even a complete lifestyle.
- Yoga is beneficial no matter how much or how little of it you can fit into your weekly schedule. It is recommended to start practicing yoga two or three times a week for an hour each time and work your way up from there if possible. However, any time that you can find for a yoga session will work too. That's why I'm here! The only things that are needed for a yoga session are your body, mind and comfortable, well-fitting workout clothes.
Fact: Yoga reduces stress which can reduce the risk factors of heart attack, high blood pressure, depression, and stroke.
Fact: Yoga dates back more than 5,000 years and is rooted in the healthiest societies known to mankind.
Fact: 4 out of 5 doctors say that yoga is beneficial to health and can increase longevity.
Fact : Yoga burns calories and helps you maintain a cleansed and cleared body, mind, and spirit.
Fact: Yoga can lengthen your muscles which helps to build longer, leaner, and stronger muscles.
The benefits of yoga are too many to list here, but with a regular practice you will reap them all. Keep in mind that yoga is not about whether or not you can do a particular pose exactly like the person on a video or in a picture. It's about the journey towards the pose, enlightenment, or whatever your goal is. Keep an open mind and heart at all times! That's the fun of doing Yoga at home or at work!
